10/15/2000 October 15, 2000 Las Vegas, Nevada (October 15, 2000) The Learning Channel has named The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino one of "The Ultimate 10 Hotels in the World." In its recent U.S. premiere on the popular cable network, TLC's "Ultimate 10" ranked The Venetian with nine of the most luxurious and exotic resorts around the globe.
The Venetian Resort is one of only two hotels in the Continental U.S. to receive this distinguished honor, making the list alongside some of the most exquisite properties of this era: The Oriental Bangkok (Thailand); Hayman Island Resort (Australia); Hotel de Crillon (Paris); Amankila (Indonesia); MalaMala Game Reserve (South Africa); Grand Wailea Resort (Maui, Hawaii); Chateau Lake Louise (Alberta, Canada); Chewton Glen (UK); The Pelican (Miami, FL).
The Learning Channel selected The Venetian and nine other resorts based on the "one-of-a-kind" experience guests receive during their stay. TLC's website, featuring The Venetian, says: "The Venetian Resort lavishes guests with a fantasy experience that may rival the real thing."
"Each of the properties that made this extraordinary list have something very unique to offer and are in a class all their own, especially The Venetian," said Rob Goldstein, president of The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino. "The Venetian transports its guests from the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, Nevada to the charm and beauty of Venice, Italy. We are honored to be a part of this elite group of premium resorts."
The Venetian offers guests 3,036 hotel suites (each standard suite measures 700 square feet), 120,000 square feet of gaming floor, 500,000 square feet of retail space at The Grand Canal Shoppes, the luxurious 65,000 square-foot Canyon Ranch SpaClub, 500,000 square feet of meeting space at The Venetian Congress Center and a direct link to the 1.2 million square foot Sands Expo and Convention Center. |
